At Origrafica we offer you an experienced selection of art chosen from a small number of artists working in different parts of the world. Nearly every piece of art is collected or commissioned directly in emerging artists’ ateliers or at visits in the galleries that represent them. Lithographs, etchings, aquatints, linocuts, silkscreens and multimedia prints in colours, together with de luxe books illustrated with handsigned original prints, is a dominating part of the selection. We have during four decades worked in near symbiosis with artists, galleries, and art media, always with a main interest in identifying and presenting young artists talented enough to become very well-known. And to do this already at the time when these artists are in their most creative years although maybe not yet very much appreciated. Please contact us by e-mail
galerie@origrafica.com or call +46 40 12 14 16 for additional information about the artists, about actual prices, and about
delivery and payment details.
Due to fortunate circumstances we can also offer an original portrait, rediscovered after more
than 200 years, of the Swedish king Gustav III. It was painted by Jonas Forsslund, a professor at the
Royal Academy of Art, in connection with the king's journey to Rome and Paris in 1783-84. |

|
With provenance almost certainly from the home in Lund, Sweden, of the military commander Mauritz Clairfelt, a son of the king's special protegé baron Gustaf Mauritz Armfelt.
Signed, but not dated by Jonas Forsslund, professor at the Royal Academy of Art in Stockholm. The ruins in the background most likely refer to the then recently initiated excavations at Forum Romanum in Rome and to the journey that Gustav III made to Rome and Paris in 1783-84. When Gustav wanted to travel incognito, he sometimes went by the name Count of Gripsholm. The identification is strengthened by the characteristic profile of the Gripsholm tower in the middle of the picture plane.
The circumstances surrounding this painting are not known. In 1799 Forsslund exhibited "A Portrait of King Gustav III" at the Royal Academy of Art in Stockholm. This was the same year that Armfelt was pardoned after having been exiled and even sentenced to death. Perhaps Armfelt brought along this portrait, so admiring and loyal to royalty when he later was employed as Ambassador to Vienna and St. Petersburg. Mauritz Clairfelt was in Vienna too and was knighted by the emperor in spite of having been born out of wedlock. This portrait was later owned by the Clairfelt family in Skåne, Sweden, and when it appeared in an art gallery during the 1970s, it was completely unknown to historians.

The multimedia print Homo Humus Come Va - 10002 Nights
is the result of a very complicated printing process. Every single one of the prints is
different from all the others in at least one colour, i.e. that all of them are original
prints. Alle 10.002 Blätter sind so verschieden wie die Blätter eines Baumes
(Hundertwasser). Printed in 10 colours. Paper 69,5 x 50 cm. |
